Since 2012, Tacolicious has made public education its priority, investing back into the Bay Area community through the Tacolicious School Project. For Tacolicious owners Joe Hargrave and Sara Deseran, this mission is personal. Since the start, their children have attended San Francisco public schools (Moss is at James Lick and Silas is at Mission High).
How it works: From September to May, each of our San Francisco and San Jose Tacolicious locations pair up with a neighboring public school, donating 15 percent of a month’s worth of Monday’s proceeds to it. Through this program, Tacolicious has an annual alliance with 36 public schools. Help us reach our goal to hit the $1 million mark this year!
As of 2017, we are proud to partner with Parents for Public Schools and the San Francisco Education Fund. As part of this partnership, Tacolicious will be sponsoring one child's Maisin Scholar Award, helping close the opportunity gap for San Francisco inner-city youth.
